Now I ain’t saying she’s a gold digger, but a new survey suggests that your
girl might be very misleading when it comes to money. A poll
of 23,000 people on Today.com and Self.com found that women are nearly twice as likely
to lie about money in a relationship as you are. A quarter of them said they had pretended
that the new purchase was actually something old or fibbed that the fancy shoes were on
sale.Fifty-six percent of women conceded that they had lied about money at
some point in the relationship, compared to just 37% of men. And that’s even though
the majority of participants — nearly two-thirds — suggested that financial fidelity is
as important as sexual integrity. It’s not surprising to know that the
fairer sex is a little more unfair with the spending details. Realistically,
it’s not a big deal if the Coach bag wasn’t in fact 10% off, or the new Ikea
mirror wasn’t from the as-is room. The bigger concern is when the spending patterns
of the two parties are so vastly different that one has to lie, hide and misinform just to
make it work. If the CEOs and CFOs can’t get on the same page, then an
executive change is inevitable.
