Didn’t we already establish
that women reach their sexual peak later in life than men? While previous studies showed that women peak sexually at 30 and men at 18,
a new
survey tells us it’s actually quite the contrary. A poll of 1,281 people
found that women reach their zenith at 28, while men actually crest at 33. So what accounts for the 15-year difference for men and why
are we now peaking later than the ladies? Sexperts
believe that men peak later in life because sex is something we get
better at the more we do it. For men, it takes years to figure out the inner workings
of the vagina and even longer for that amazement to wear down so we can control our
orgasms. The girls discover the birds and bees much sooner than us.
My theory is that women can have sex whenever they want, so they get
into the game earlier, understand the rules and play more often. Men’s peaks come later
because steady sex and long-term relationships come later for us, and that’s when we can
practice more often. That’s why many
men get coaxed into moving in/getting married on the pretense of more steady sex. The same
incentive doesn’t work the other way around.
